Under 15 Junior Harrier, Liam Brittle, certainly showed us what he’s made of on Saturday. The 10 mile route starts in Durham City before heading down along the rivers Wear Dale Way, through the local woods of Shincliffe and Croxdale, running along some trails. A small numberof Harriers headed to Leeds to take on the Leeds Half marathon, quite a toughieby all accounts too with some tough climbs at the beginning of the race. New personal bests for Andy Campbell-Critchley, Steve Rogers and Michael Robson led the way with Zoe Rogers and Michael running similar times around the course.
At the mid week 5 mile race at Locke Park we had a small number of runners in competition. Tony Winward was first Harrier home, pictured here looking lean and mean in 24th position in 32:37 with Kelly Farr also having an excellent run making up the top 50 but 3rd in her race category.

Last weekend Hilary Bevan happened to be in the Watford area so entered the local 10km on the day. Barry Foster was the only Harrier on show at this years Keswick Half Marathon. This race is said to be one of the most scenic half marathons in the country. Sue Phillips and Shirley Gibson were representing England this weekend at the Simply health Great Birmingham 10k.Sue was first home of the two finishing 1st F55 in 43:48 with Shirley 56th in 55:33. Brian Martin another Darlington runner was also on show finishing in 39:53.Well done all of you.
Lewis Moses was in action this Saturday in the 5000m track race in sunny Ireland. This was Lewis’s first race on track this season and he continued his great form blowing the cobwebs away in a new club record of 14:02.88 beating Paul Harker’s record of 14:26 set back in 1980!Outstanding running Lewis, well done.
