Under 17 throwing extraordinaire, Rosie Thompson, had her first taste of the senior league last weekend, when she travelled to Monkton Stadium to take part in the North of England League. Up against some tough competition from the seniors, Rosie performed to her usual high standard, and certainly showed she is a force to be reckoned with!
Her best performance of the day was in the hammer, this time throwing a 4k hammer instead of the usual 3k. With a great effort she produced an excellent throw of 25.92m, finishing in 2nd place!
In the shot putt, the weight was also increased to 4k from the usual 3k…..and yet another great performance. This time finishing 3rd with a throw of 7.67m
Ironically, when there was no weight increase, things didn’t go quite so well in the discus, registering three no throws. Never mind, Rosie, that’s just the way it goes sometimes.
Nevertheless, a fantastic effort in her first steps into the senior league. Well done Rosie, you have done yourself proud
