Darren Stockdale and Julian Pinkney were literally hobbling last Sunday morning as they competed in the Heartbeat Hobble, a 7 mile off road race which forms part of the Esk Valley series of races. On the day Darren finished 99th in 73.47 with Julian hot on his tail (oo’er) in 101st in 74:07. Great work
Darren Stockdale was once again the lone wolf at Esk Valley’s Commondale Becon fell race, a race out in the North Yorkshire Moors and part of the Winter Fell Series. This race is another tough one (aren’t they all) which includes 300m of ascent in the 13km route. Darren, who is an excellent fell runner,
Darren Stockdale was in his element today running in the Guisborough woods race. An event consisting of three laps for the competitors, taking them winding through the woods. Plenty of mud around the course to keep everyone interested which definitely ticks the box for Darren. On the day, Darren finished in 137th position in 63:26.

Last Saturday morning the club held the Croft 5km event at the named racing circuit on the outskirts of town. After the anomalies had been ironed out the results have now been published on Racebest. On Tuesday evening at Eastbourne the first meet of the NYSD took place with a small number of Harriers taking part. The third fixture of the North East Harrier XC League took place at Temple Park in South Shields on Saturday. Temple Park hosts many 5k races during the year and the XC course hosted the North East championships four years ago. Darren Stockdale completed the course in 41:24 and Mark Tallon in 43:32. Another Harrier in action last week was Darren Stockdale who was tackling the Gormire Gamble, one of the Esk Valley Fell races, a 11km run from Sutton Bank visitor centre. Darren completed this tough little run in 57:08. Well done Darren.
