Off road specialist Darren Stockdale headed to Pickering on Sunday morning to take on the challenge of the Saltersgate Gallows Trail Run.
This event is over a 10.6mile distance which includes elevation of 430 metres.
Starting at Levisham Village, the race takes in some stunning views, even on days such as this one when the miserable wet conditions impacted all runners as the route takes them in Levisham Moor and the Hole of Horcum.
On the day Darren finished in 167 minutes in 74th position. Great work Darren.

Next Esk Valley race is on October 20, The Gormire Gamble which starts at Sutton Bank!
