Teece rolls back the years

Sunday saw the tenth Helmsley 10K All Terrain Challenge which starts in Carlton Lane and takes runners off-road into forestry and fields before emerging again onto the bottom of Carlton Road and to the finish of the recreation ground. Louise Kavanagh and Penny Ivison headed to Swainby on Sunday to take on the 7 mile ‘Swainby Sweep’ a run that starts and finishes at Swainby Village Hall. There is a 16 mile option for anyone crazy enough! On a very undulating route Lou finished the course in 81st place in 1:36:56 with Penny 83rd

Saturday saw three of our runners in action at the Hardmoors 55, an Ultramarathon which sees participants running from Guisborough to Helmsley. The 55 mile race takes competitors through the North York Moors and the Cleveland Hills in tough conditions. The race contains over 2000metres of ascent and has a time limit of 16 hours

Capsey has No Ego

Matt Capsey, renowned for his ultra runs took on Dalby Forest’s ‘No Ego’ race, a 5 mile event which requires competitors to wear a headtorch and is the first of three headtorch races in the first two months of the year.In a field of 420, Matt finished 25th in a time of 39:55.
