HUNDREDS of runners flocked to a popular relay race for its 13th annual event. The Neptune Relays took place on Wednesday in Hardwick Park, near Sedgefield, where about 500 athletes from across the North-East competed for trophies and bags of fruit.
Each team has 4 runners each running 1.7m, the Harrier team containing Barry Talman, Peter Armstrong, Shaun Marshall and Karl Hume (a late stand in for Paul Cook) finished 16th behind eventual winners, Durham City Harriers, NYMAC in second and Sedgefield in third.
Well done gentleman.
