Darren Gee headed off to Ingleton to do The Fellsman.
This race, which is advertised as 61 miles and 11,000ft of climb, clearly wasn’t enough for Darren who, thanks to a detour on the course, clocked a staggering 62.65 miles and 12,800ft of climb…it was some day.
Grim weather, with plenty of wind and rain, nearly landed Darren with a case of hypothermia! Thankfully our experienced ultra runner was prepared and a change of clothes got him back on track and allowed him to finish in an impressive 39th place in 15:49:33.
Darren described this as “An epic day out, definitely one to try”…just a pity Yorkshire men can’t use smart phones.
Well done Darren, very impressive achievement again!
