On Sunday morning at Redcar we had a number of runners who decided to opt for the Beacon 5km run instead of the mornings half marathon. A fast out and back course for those who prefer something a little less mileage. Some great performances with a number of category podium places on the day. Well
The first fixture of the North East Harrier cross country league took place at Wrekenton, just outside of Gateshead on Saturday afternoon. A massive 583 men finished the 9.52k senior course which features an innovative three pack start (slow, medium & fast), chip timing and a league system for competing clubs. Competing as a guest
On Wednesday evening we had some of our athletes in action at the Trail 5km race, West park. Four tough laps around the outer section of the park. Some impressive performances with Colin, Louise and Linda all picking up prizes. Well done all Harriers who ran.

Brian Burdon was the lone Harrier competing at Wynyard 10k last Sunday morning. Brian who’s had an excellent year across all distances and disciplines finished 162nd in 62:48 from the 248 field. Well done Brian….first harrier home too
Last Sunday morning 3 L-adies took on the Haltwhistle Half marathon, a scenic run in the heart of Northumberland. The course follows the South Tyne Trail along an old railway line crossing the Lambley viaduct , then turns around, heading back downhill to the finish. Three great performances from our ladies, well done.
Last Sunday afternoon the club were competing in the Thirsk relays which is the start of the cross country season, the 2.2 mile relays. Some good performances from both the men and the ladies on the day. Respect to everyone who ran on the day and gave it their best for the team.
