The first fixture of the North East Harrier cross country league took place at Wrekenton, just outside of Gateshead on Saturday afternoon.
A massive 583 men finished the 9.52k senior course which features an innovative three pack start (slow, medium & fast), chip timing and a league system for competing clubs.
Competing as a guest club in this league, Darren Stockdale was first DHAC runner home in 41:59 ahead of Mark Tallon in 45:52 and Richard Bowes in 45:16, giving all three a 9.52k PB!
The North East Harrier League continues to Druridge Bay next Sunday.
