On your Mark, at York
400m specialist Mark Tallon was in action today at the Benenden Summer League. Mark who has peppered the 60 second mark once again finished just outside, finishing 3rd in 61.9 seconds. Great running again Mark.
Alison win at Lowther
Alison Matthews was again in action this weekend, this time at the Lowther 13mile trail race. The route has about 3 miles of tarmac and the rest is mostly open country with grassy and gravel tracks, also about two miles crossing rough pasture. This very scenic route takes runners across Askham Fell and the Lowther
Duo at Sheffield Half
James Baker and Charlotte Knowles were our two Harriers at this years Sheffield Half Marathon, a race which takes runners up for the first half of the race before bringing them back down for the second part. Of the two James was first home in 1.32.32 for 524th place with Charlotte 1.47.42 in 1602nd place
Harriers Compete in Tartan Games

Heather hits her Peak
This 12.12 mile (19.5km) route takes in some of the best scenery on the edge of the Peak District, following trails over rolling hills from Whirlow Hall Farm and back. Triology Events midweek super sprint race
We had some of our ladies in action at the midweek Triathlon super sprint race, and quite a successful night it turned out to be with Alison Matthews and Jade Hutchinson both collecting medals on the night in their age categories.
Wainstone marathon
Heather Mochrie was in marathon action again this weekend, this time at the Hardmoors Wainstone marathon. Our super girl really is a machine on this type of terrain and once again she came up trumps finishing 1st lady and 7th overall. Incredible. Full results can be found here
Ravenscar Rumble
This week saw a small number of Harriers at the Ravenscar Rumble, a coastal fell race with free cake to tempt runners over the finish line. A scenic course of approximately 7.5km/4.7 miles with a 240m climb. We will cover this story once results have been released.
Gateshead Trailers
We had a small number of seniors at this weekends Gateshead 10km trail race. The Gateshead Trail 10k that winds through the Derwent Walk Country Park is a fast, fun, and scenic race, with only a few inclines. Full results can be found here
Rutherford returns at Darlington 10k
There was another large turnout at this years Darlington 10km race, a race which sees runners racing from the back of Boyes completing two laps of a 3 mile route before turning onto Skinnergate and onto High Row for a finish in front of everyone’s friends and families. Another successful trip to the Seaside

Heather’s Hanging Stones
Heather Mochrie was in action this weekend for the 24 mile long 3,500 feet ascent LDWA Hanging Stone Leap event on Saturday 6 August. Caps off to Matt at the Lakeland One Hundred
Matt Capsey was the only Harrier in action at the Lakeland 100mile race. This race is not for amateurs and only should be undertaken by the seasons ultra runner. On the day Matt finished 132nd in 36hrs 10.04. Fantastic achievement. Full results can be found here
South Shields 5km
Friday evening saw a small number of our seniors at the 5km race at Saltwell, a flat and fast PB course. Harriers Handicapped
Today saw a number of our Harriers at the Gerry Kearsley Handicap which is run in January and July over a multi terrain route on trails around Fishburn and Bishop Middleham. It is free to enter and runners can enter on the day. Handicapping is based on 10k times. The name of the winner is
Durham City 10k
We had a small number of Harriers at todays Durham City 10km race, a race which takes runners around and through the city centre so not the flattest of races. Some great performances from the group tonight. Full results can be found here
Redcar 5km
