Another race to take place this Sunday was the Guy Fawkes 10mile race, a hilly course with plenty ups and downs to keep runners interested. After some guy started the race the Harriers who were sixteen strong took on the course. Well done all runners

David Aiken was the lone Harrier at the ‘Out on the Wild, Windy Moors’ fell race. A 13km race along the Bronte Way finishing at Howarth High Street…..with a free beer at the end of the race (what more would you want!). David completed the race in 1hr 26 and his pint in 45 seconds,

The third fixture of the North East Harrier XC League took place at Temple Park in South Shields on Saturday. Temple Park hosts many 5k races during the year and the XC course hosted the North East championships four years ago. Darren Stockdale completed the course in 41:24 and Mark Tallon in 43:32. Also last week Kim Reeve was in action at the Osmotherley marathon and like any of the Hardmoors series, you know it’s not going to be easy…or flat!! Kim had a fantastic run finishing 49th in 6:38:25 from 112 runners. Well done Kim
On Saturday a small number of Harriers headed south to Sheffield to compete in the Northern XC relays. First up were the ladies team of Lucy Hunter, Natalie Curgenven and Sue Phillips who finished 20th overall followed by the male team of Paul Lowe, Paul Allan, Barry Talman and David McKenna, finishing in 49th place.
In other news Sue Phillips has been selected to run for England in this years British Masters International XC in Derry on November 18th. A fantastic achievement by Sue who has had another fantastic season at the club. Well done Sue and good luck!
Kim Reeve and son Joe along with Peter Foulds were in action at the Rabbit 5k at Whitby. Three great performances on the day for this little off roader with Kim finishing 2nd lady and young Joe winning the whole race. Well done all three of you.
