This weekend saw the Senior Track & Field team finally clinch promotion and the league title. Congratulations to captains Mark Tallon and Sue Phillips and all athletes who have contributed.
We had a small number of our Masters head to Jarrow this evening to compete in the North East Masters AA league. Results have yet to be released but will be available on the Power of Ten Website, results from the 100m heats can be found here
We had a number of our athletes at the Aycliffe 10km race this weekend, a race which sees runners complete 2 and a half laps of the ‘scenic’ Newton Aycliffe. Some excellent performances throughout with Drew Inglis second on the day. Full results can be found here
We had a large number of athletes at the very popular Blaydon races, a 5.67m race from Newcastle City Centre to Blaydon, a race which always takes place on the 9th of June. Some fantastic performances on the day, Paul Allan first of the club runners across the line in 66th place in 32.15. Full

Club Development Officer Paul Cook has been working with current energy supplier, Future Energy around sponsorship. One of the pieces of equipment that we have been short of is a club tent due to our growing numbers. Hopefully this new acquisition can keep our runners and supporters a little warmer over the winter period!

Colin Taylor was one of the Harriers on show tonight at the first NYSD event of the year, taking part in the 1500m race here at Eastbourne. On the evening Colin finished in a time of 4:43.5 for 5th place covering all age groups. Full results can be found here
It was the return of the very popular Mermaid 10km race this good Friday, a flat and fast 10km race which takes runners from the Mermaid pub in New Marske, around the housing estate to the coast for a couple of loops and a long 3km run back to the finish line. Some impressive performances

Saturday saw the return of the Hetton Lions 2.2mile relay event, an event which has women in teams of four and men teams of six completing the undulating route before passing the baton to their team mate. We saw a small number of our senior runners at the Poultry Run at Loftus. The Loftus & Whitby Poultry Run has been held just before Christmas for over 30 years. It is a multi-terrain event and has built up a reputation as one of the friendliest and most fun events in the North East
Ackley heads, Durham is a tough course and today was no exception with large areas of thick mud making it tricky for all our runners. Again the club turned out in force and represented the club brilliantly so big thank you to every last one of you who ran today! Full results of the event
