We had a small number of Senior Harriers at the Eureka Fell Race today, a 8 mile race approximately with 1500 ft of ascent to tackle. The terrain varies from little tracks through the heather to rocky bridleways and muddy paths. Good results from our fab five today. Full results can be found here
Today saw a small number of Harriers head to Thornley farm, Peterlee to join the NEHL Cross Country league and run as guests. Some good performances from all of our runners of all ages. All results for the day can be found here
Midweek saw a handful of our Harriers at the Chopgate Chiller, a 9.6 mile long route which takes in the peaks of Cold Moor, Cringle Moor and Carlton Bank before returning to Chop Gate. To see how our runners got on the night see results for short distance here and the long route here
Over a thousand teams took part in the Saucony English Cross Country Relays held at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield today. Once again the popularity of the venue proved it was the place to be after the prolonged changeover to Mansfield DC running the Park as Corporate Trustees. Sunday afternoon saw the Harrier troops swarm to Thirsk to take part in the NYSD relays to kick start the Cross Country Season. Some fantastic team performances with plenty podium places on the day. Full results can be found here

We had a small number of Harriers at the scenic off-road handicapped race. The route of approximately 6.5m is on beautiful paths around Hardwick Park and Bishop Middleham. Results can vary depending on what estimated time is provided by the runner but full results from the day can be found here
Sunday saw a number of our club runners on the grounds of Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, a 5mile (approx) trail race which has a bit of everything for runners. Some great results on the day from all. Full results can be found here
There was another large turnout at this years Darlington 10km race, a race which sees runners racing from the back of Boyes completing two laps of a 3 mile route before turning onto Skinnergate and onto High Row for a finish in front of everyone’s friends and families. We had a huge turnout at the clubs home race, the pitstop 10km which takes place at Croft race circuit and sees competitors undertake 3 laps of the race. Darren Stockdale and David Aiken were in action this weekend at the Ilkley Moor 8 mile race. The 6.9 out-and-back route takes in tracks through woodland, fields and moors, interspersed with some short road sections. This week saw the annual NYMAC relays, the 4 x 1mile event around Stewarts Park in Middlesbrough which is always popular amongst the running clubs. Another excellent night with loads of great performances throughout the club. Full results can be found here
We had a number of our runners at the Malhamdale challenge this weekend, a 22 mile run route which is undulating (hilly!) with 1650 feet of ascent incorporating a mix of hard-packed rocky trails, boggy sections, limestone rocks and grassy tracks. Full results can be found here
On Wednesday evening we saw another good turnout at the Neptune 4 stage relays, an event which is ran by Sedgefield Harriers around Hardwick park. Each leg is around 1.7miles. David Aiken was involved in the annual 12 mile round walk in scenic Wensleydale, in aid, this year, of the Friarage Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal, and local Rotary charities. Great to see club members getting involved in local events supporting charities.

Sunday saw the final cross country event at Richmond, with the senior ladies team still with an opportunity to win the league after another strong campaign. The U13 boys and girls won their leagues as did the U15 girls with Harrier men an excellent 4th. The big guns were out on the day with Georgie

Sunday saw the first full distance Cross Country event of the season, taking place at Whitby. This is a great race with a mix of trail and predominately grass around the course and one steep hill which when the weather is bad, a rope is placed on the hill to assist people to the top….three
