A handful of Harriers were in action at the Viking Chase 4 Peaks Fell race., an eight mile race with 1800ft of climb, starting at Lordstones Café. The senior track and field team secured promotion and the division 4E title by winning the final fixture of the season at Whitley Bay last weekend. The team won three of the four fixtures and amassed season match points of 1778 ahead of the 1551 of nearest rival North Shields Poly – Well done to
Mark Tallon and Darren Stockdale were in 800m action at the City of York Summer League. Mark Tallon finished the race in 2.25.05 for 6th with Darren 2.48.05 for 11th place. Good work boys!

We had a bigger turnout this week at the Whorlton Fell race after good feedback from the runners the previous year. Once again some excellent results on the evening. The mens team claimed 1st prize on the evening, Paul Lowe being first home for the club in 5th supported by Paul Allan and Garry Collinson.

We had a small number of Harriers at the Ossy Oiks Fell Race, a race which is classed as AS which means it’s a short course with steep climbs with most of the race on the Cleveland Way. Paul Lowe picked up 4th place on the evening with Natalie Curgenven 2nd lady on the night.
The Anniversary Waltz race was set up by fell runners Wynn and Steve Cliff, to commemorate their wedding at Newlands Church in the Lake District. Now in its 21st year, this is becoming a classic medium-length fell race, taking in 12 miles and (more than) 3600ft of ascent in the Newlands Valley. The race route
Colin Taylor was one of the Harriers on show tonight at the first NYSD event of the year, taking part in the 1500m race here at Eastbourne. On the evening Colin finished in a time of 4:43.5 for 5th place covering all age groups. Full results can be found here
We had a handful of our senior athletes at the Guisborough Woods Fell race today a race which covers 12.3miles of tough terrain including 2200ft of climbing. Some fantastic performances on the day from all of our Seniors. Full results can be found here
We saw a small number of our senior runners at the Poultry Run at Loftus. The Loftus & Whitby Poultry Run has been held just before Christmas for over 30 years. It is a multi-terrain event and has built up a reputation as one of the friendliest and most fun events in the North East
Ackley heads, Durham is a tough course and today was no exception with large areas of thick mud making it tricky for all our runners. Again the club turned out in force and represented the club brilliantly so big thank you to every last one of you who ran today! Full results of the event

Over a thousand teams took part in the Saucony English Cross Country Relays held at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield today. Once again the popularity of the venue proved it was the place to be after the prolonged changeover to Mansfield DC running the Park as Corporate Trustees. We had a small number of Harriers at the Derwentwater 10 mile race, a race which is described as being the most scenic in the UK. Alison Matthews took the honours for the club finishing 3rd in the ladies race, first V35 but good performances throughout. Full results can be found here
Sunday afternoon saw the Harrier troops swarm to Thirsk to take part in the NYSD relays to kick start the Cross Country Season. Some fantastic team performances with plenty podium places on the day. Full results can be found here
