Wednesday night saw the annual Bridges of the Tyne 5 mile race, an out and back race along Newcastle’s Quayside. Dave McKenna back on his home soil was first home for the club in 31:58. Great performances from all our fab five this evening, well done.

Sunday saw the Great North 10k which starts outside Gateshead stadium and finishes inside on the track. This is a great event, an out and back with a couple of hills thrown in but with some fast downhill sections. Paul Cook who has been in great form led out the pack in the 10k event

Sunday saw the return of the Aycliffe 10k race, an event which sees athletes run 1 small loop and two larger loops around the Greenfield area of the town….not very scenic! The course looks flat but it’s actually quite undulating as runners find to their cost! There was quite a mix up with timing afterwards

The weekend saw three of our runners at the Hardmoors 55. The Hardmoors 55 is a 55 mile Ultramarathon running from Guisborough to Helmsley. The 55 mile race takes competitors through the North York Moors and the Cleveland Hills in tough conditions. Matt finished 63rd in 10hrs 39 with Mark 98th in 11 hrs 14.
