Alex Bos and Gerda Arts were in action on Saturday back in their native homeland of Holland. The race was the Blokzijl 5.3 mile race which saw Alex first to finish in 26 minutes dead and Gerda crossing the line 27.34 but 3rd lady. Well done both of you
We had a large number of athletes at the very popular Blaydon races, a 5.67m race from Newcastle City Centre to Blaydon, a race which always takes place on the 9th of June. Some fantastic performances on the day, Paul Allan first of the club runners across the line in 66th place in 32.15. Full

We had a small number of Harriers at the Ossy Oiks Fell Race, a race which is classed as AS which means it’s a short course with steep climbs with most of the race on the Cleveland Way. Paul Lowe picked up 4th place on the evening with Natalie Curgenven 2nd lady on the night.

This years club handicap took place opposite South Park on a 1.5mile loop course (approx) which saw runners once again post their expected finishing time and then running the course in a handicap system with the fastest runners setting off last. We had a handful of our Harriers at the York Chocolate Run on Sunday…and we all love chocolate! This run is a bit of fun but things get serious when there’s chocolate at the end of a 5km run. Well done boys and girls….now go and run off those calories!
The Cleveland Way Relay is a race on foot around the course of the Cleveland Way long distance footpath (For further information on the Cleveland Way see here. Tonight saw a number of our club runners at the Muddy Road 3 mile race. New to Muddy Roads this 3 mile trail is mainly flat and fast, with a challenging climb and a little cheeky one at the end, with plenty of horses in the surrounding fields some maybe tempted to hitch a ride!
