Sunday saw the return of the Alistair Brownlee 5km race, a flat and fast (well until the flyover at least) 5km race which ends up in Middlesbrough Football Club Riverside stadium. Russell Adams was first home for the club finishing 11th place in 16.57. Full results for our Harriers are below with external results here
Paul Lowe and Paul Allan were our only competitors at the Skiddaw fell race today, a 9.6 mile race but with nearly 1000ft of climbing throughout. Paul Lowe was first to finish of the two finishing 11th with Paul Allan 48th from a field of 136 runners. Full results can be found here
Steven Wilkinson was the only Harrier at todays 10km race in Harrogate. On an undulating course, Steve finished in 29th position in 39.13. Final results can be found here
Last Wednesday, 2nd July saw the return of the clubs annual Pitstop events which are held on Croft Circuit. A nice alternative to the regular road races, athletes young and old race around the 2.2mile circuit which is normally associated with motor racing. Today saw four of our runners at the Hadrian Wall half marathon, a race which has pretty much everything with road, trail, grass, hills and undulation along the way. Some good performances from the guys on the day, Barry Foster first to get home. Full results can be found here
This week we saw the return of the Coatham relays, a paired relay event organised by Andrew Park which sees runners paired off based on ability, the first runner starting at the Whitehorse pub and running up to the Forresters Arms before the second runner heads home towards the Whitehorse and the finish. Darren Stockdale was in action at the Cronkley Fell race today, a race which is over 11 miles in length with over 1600ft of ascent. results have yet to be published but will be available here
We had a bigger turnout this week at the Whorlton Fell race after good feedback from the runners the previous year. Once again some excellent results on the evening. The mens team claimed 1st prize on the evening, Paul Lowe being first home for the club in 5th supported by Paul Allan and Garry Collinson.
We had a number of our athletes at the Aycliffe 10km race this weekend, a race which sees runners complete 2 and a half laps of the ‘scenic’ Newton Aycliffe. Some excellent performances throughout with Drew Inglis second on the day. Full results can be found here
Sarah Cook was the only Harrier at the weekends 10km race in Hull, a race which is flat and fast and an excellent course for those who fancy a change of scenery. On the day Sarah finished in 68.12. Full results can be found here
Today saw a small number of our Senior Athletes in action at the North East Masters at Jarrow. Some fantastic performances across the track events from our masters today. Well done all five of you! Results from the day can be found here
