On Saturday morning post parkrun Darlington, the club held it’s annual 10 mile race. Once again the weather was kind as the sun got out to make it a lovely day for running. The day which actually had a World Record holder racing in it as Guy Bracken (1 mile V55 WR holder) was amongst the participants.
On the day, event organiser Paul Cook was on the microphone to ensure all competitors received some ‘encouragement’. Guy ultimately won the event in under 57 minutes, his first 10 mile race for 7 years but it was Nev Ford from the club who was first across the line finishing 8th in 65:57 with Linda Noble 3rd lady in 20th place in 1:12:32. Fantastic efforts from everyone!
A big shout out to all the support crew on the day, everyone pitching in, marshalling, timing, water stations and signing people up. Without your support these events would never be a success so thank you once again.
