As part of yesterday’s Back To Track II meeting at Eastbourne, it was time for members of our Junior Fundamentals group to shine in some U11 member-only exhibition races.
13 of the youngsters braved the cold wind to take part in their first track race, with each and every one doing it with huge enthusiasm and a big smile; made us coaches very proud 😁
Heat 1
An exceptional performance from Chloe, who is surely looking forward to moving up to the older sprints group based on this run. Well done Chloe 👏
In behind, the remainder were separated by less than half a second – incredibly close racing. Well done, and I’ve no doubt you’ll all come on for this experience and get even better (India, I told you the starters gun wouldn’t scare you!)
Heat 2
Again, another really close battle, with the spike-wearing duo of Ollie and Harrison barely separated on the line with both given the same time. George coming in just behind (despite his ear bothering him) and Jacob (who still proclaims to have made the perfect start) rounding out the field.
Well done boys, excellent performances.
Heat 3
The closest race of the day, for sure, saw Aidan just edge out Louie, Finn and Matty (still threw in what I foresee to be his trademark dip, he was practicing it in warm up!), with all 4 finishing within 0.3s.
Just outlasting the others, Aidan finished really strong, but this race could so easily be different placings if ran again, it was so close. What a brilliant race to watch.

Thanks to the seemingly ever-present Karen Harland, there are some great photos you can view by clicking HERE
Other than that, see some photos below that we managed to capture on the day.
Well done, again, to everyone, and hopefully we get to do it all again soon
