At last weeks cross country, both teams again had a good turnout with excellent results. In the ladies race, Bernadette Caygill was 6th across the line, sisters Sue Phillips and Linda Noble 17th and 18th respectively with Val Clarke 23rd making it a strong top 4. Nicky Young finished in a solid 37th place, Sarah Wilson only 4 places behind in 41st with Millie Grayson and Sarah Guy also making the top 50 in 44th and 46th place.
Diane Jones finished just outside the top 50 in 52nd, team captain Lesley Miller 61st, Emma Campbell-Critchley 88th to leave the ladies team in 3rd position on the day. In the men’s race it was another classy performance from Drew Inglis finishing 6th in a very strong men’s line up with Colin Taylor 13th again pushing on from some strong runners.
Paul Allan was next home in 20th only 19 seconds ahead of Shaun Marshall in 26th who in turn beat Simon Rogers across the line in 28th and 12 seconds behind. Andy Campbell-Critchley was the final point scorer in 36th place, coach Phil Teece 49th with Dave McKenna 62nd. John Dunne who is enjoying his first season of cross country was 87th, 4 places ahead of Carl Eddon in 91st and Kevin Wilson in 97th.
Graham Garvey finished just outside the top 100 finishing 101st, Dave Riches 121st and 138th was Tony Roberts with the men’s team 2nd overall.
