On Monday evening, two of our top Junior Harriers travelled to Chester-le-Street as the venue played host to the British Milers Club for the second time this season.
Both in their first year of their respective age groups, Under 17, Adam Russell and Under 20, India Pentland both ran the 1500m tonight, up against some older competition.
Adam was in the third of three men’s races and had a cracking run. He had to work hard against the tough competition but still managed to rise above the challenge of several U20/U23 athletes, eventually finishing in 3rd place with a new PB of 4:11.08. This also beat the DHAC club record which had stood for nearly 10 years! So congratulations, Adam, a top performance!
We all know what an outstanding cross country season India had. To replicate that success in her first year at U20 will be a tall order, but knowing India she’ll certainly give it all she’s got!
Tonight was her first 1500m this season and apart from one senior female, she was up against the blokes – nothing like making things difficult for yourself! It was a tough race, but she ran very well and came away with a Season’s Best of 4:36.75.
Well done, India, onward and upward!☺

Once again, thanks to Karen for the photos
