Boyer Brothers Biathlon Success

After qualifying from the Regional event back in October, brothers Dan and Alex Boyer were in action again last weekend in the finals of the British Modern Biathlon Championships. If you missed it last time, the Biathlon consists of a separate run and swim, where points are obtained for each discipline, which are then combined to get an overall points total (similar to decathlon/heptathlon).

As ever, fantastic performances from the boys: – Alex won the Under 11 Boys British title to add to his British Schools U10 title he won earlier this year at Crystal Palace. He took 8 seconds off his 800m pre-qualifying time thanks to the great training over the last few months with the DHAC Juniors coaches. His final results were 2:34.03 for the 800m, and 32.75 for the 50m swim. Congratulation, Alex, a fantastic performance!

Daniel came 7th in the Under 16 Boys with a great run and a solid swim. He took 13 seconds off his pre-qualifying run time and again Dan says thanks to Adam and Bernadette who have helped him improve his running technique and stamina since he joined DHAC in August. Dan’s final results were 4:58.18 for the 1600m run and 2:14.70 for the 200m Swim. Impressive stats, well done Dan!

Both Daniel and Alex have already qualified for the British Schools’ Modern Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace in March. Best of luck with that boys, we look forward to hearing about how you get on.
