After a lot of deliberation, Under 15 sprinter, Darcey Garbutt has made the difficult decision to move on from Darlington Harriers. From now on she will be competing for North East rivals Gateshead Harriers.
Darcey has found that she performs better when competing against faster athletes. So her aim is to improve as much as she can by competing with Gateshead against the other Division 1 athletes of the North East YDL. But it’s not the last we’ll see of her…..she loves training at Darlington and being with her friends, so for the foreseeable future, she’ll continue to do this.
It’ll be strange seeing Darcey in a red and white vest instead of the blue and white of DHAC, but we’re sure Gateshead are more than happy with their talented new recruit!
