On Wednesday we saw the clubs 5k/10k races at Croft Racing Circuit take place.
The 10km event has been a regular on the racing calendar for a number of years now, and has recently seen the addition of the 5km race added to the 2km junior run and Wheelchair race.
As this is on a racing circuit, it’s pretty much flat with only some very slight variation throughout the course….and it’s definitely 6.2 mile if the racing line is taken (this does not mean the inside lane).
Some fantastic results throughout the field, with a sprinkle of personal bests achieved on the day despite the different variations of course length.
The consistent Colin Taylor was once again first across the line for the club in the 10k race, finishing in 3rd place, but we saw Pauline Brown, Phillip Doonan, Maria Daniels and Kelly Sloan, Nicky Young, Amy Atkinson and Catherine Anderson in the 5k race take 1st place in their category.
Great achievement by you all. Well done to all that supported the club on the night; club events are never possible without your input.
