Race Results
Shirley Gibson was celebrating her 500th parkrun on Saturday at South Park. Thats pretty much 10 years of park-running week on week. This milestone has definitely come later than expected due to Covid stopping parkrun activity for a long spell but an amazing achievement to hit this number, lots of dedication on a Saturday morning.
On Saturday at the Cross Country at Akley Heads we had a number of our athletes in action across various age groups. Starting in the U11 boys race it was Ollie Curran first across the line for the club in 3rd place with Daniel Callaghan also finishing well up the pecking order in 7th.
Rowan Stell finished 5th overall despite starting in the fast pack in the U13 boys race with teammate Finn Pentland-Rice just outside the top 20 in 21st.
Grace Robinson-Tregear and Matilda Owens battled it out for 12th and 13th in the U13 girls race with Charlotte Owens breaking into the top 20 in 19th and Chloe Graham 42nd (but quicker than the girl in 16th who started from the slow pack).
Willoughby Croslegh was the only U15 boy representing the club finishing 6th across the line.
Zara Jones crossed the line 1st and was the only girl under 14 minutes as she cruised to victory, teammate Savannah Tarn also running well to finish 21st on the day.
Alex Boyer finished 1 second off top spot in the U17 boys race to finish in an impressive 2nd place.
Marissa Boon was our only U20 girl competing finishing 27th despite posting a much superior time to many of the girls from the slower group which would have seen her make the top 15.
Last but by no means least, Michael Harcourt was 20th across the line in the senior race and 2nd V35 to finish.

David Nalder was our only competitor at the weekends Doncaster 10km race a race which starts and finishes at the racecourse. David finished his 10km race on the day in 52:11 finishing in 19th position in his age category. Well done David.
