Race Results
Last weekend saw the club take on the 2nd instalment of the NYSD Cross Country season at Foxrush Farm, Redcar. The U11 boys and girls delivered some excellent results especially in the boys race as they dominated the top 8 positions. Sasha Patterson managed a podium finish and was supported by some excellent running from her team mates in a much larger field than the boys.
With no U13 boys running it was left to the girls to fly the flag and Lottie Graves (4th) and Chloe Graham (10th) did just that,
In the U15 races both boys and girls took home the top honours by finishing 1st and 2nd in both events as Harry Lyons, Alex Boyer, Zara Jones and Sophie Bannister impressed on the day. Supporting in the boys races, Matthew Vest and Thomas Grayson ensured the team finished the day 1st while Savannah Tarn finished 4th making it a very good day for the girls.
Dylan Wilson finished 5th in the U17 boys race with Ben Buckley 9th while Marissa Boon finished 1st in the U17/20/Senior/Vet race from the 125 runners. Bernie Caygill, Amy Pickworth and Mia Wetherill made sure of the teams victory by finishing 6th, 7th and 21st respectively. Brilliant running from all our ladies on the day.
Despite the brilliant running from Lee Johnson to finish in 5th position it wasn’t quite enough for the mens team with a number of runners missing from the line up due to other races or trips abroad. The team finished in 7th place but great work from all of the senior men who put the vest on and gave it their best. Colin Taylor probably man of the day after running on the back of recent illness to help the team. Full results can be found here
David Nalder was our lone Harrier at the Edinburgh 10k. Running in the V65 category, David finish in an impressive 7th place in 51.45. Great running David!

Last Sunday we saw a group of our Harriers head to Leeds to take on the flat and fast Abbey Dash, a race where many speedster has clocked incredible times and again this year was no exception with the top 27 runners all breaking 30 minutes.
From our group Paul Allan was first home in a speedy 33.26 with the ever present John Clifford 2nd V50 just 4 seconds behind Paul qualifying him for yet another England Vest. Lucy-erin Hunter had an incredible run finishing 20th Senior Female and a new personal best and new club record breaking Bernadette Caygill’s in the process as she clocked 35.24. Superb!
Phil Doonan was 27th V55 in 43:32 while partner Catherine Anderson finished 3rd F65 gaining her qualification for an England vest in a time of 51:38…it was always on the cards ‘Elite!’ Jane Teague also had an excellent run finishing 7th F60 in a time of 52:12.
