Helen Martin was the lone Harrier in action this Saturday at Hamsterley 10k (Tough 10 North East). Helen who was running in memory of her mum finished in an excellent 83rd in 1:13:41. Well done Helen, your mum would have been very proud.
Another race to take place last weekend was the White Rose Ultra 30 mile race where Corinne Murray was in action. Results have now been released, Corinne finishing 6th female on the Day in 5 hours 41:23 for 50th place overall. Well done Corinne.
Another race to take place this Sunday was the Guy Fawkes 10mile race, a hilly course with plenty ups and downs to keep runners interested. After some guy started the race the Harriers who were sixteen strong took on the course. Well done all runners
Last week we told you that some of our senior men were in action at the Really Wild Boar fell race in Sedbergh. Results are now out and in a very strong field of fell runners we saw some very impressive results. Well done all.
David Aiken was the lone Harrier at the ‘Out on the Wild, Windy Moors’ fell race. A 13km race along the Bronte Way finishing at Howarth High Street…..with a free beer at the end of the race (what more would you want!). David completed the race in 1hr 26 and his pint in 45 seconds,
Matt Capsey and Kim Reeve were in action on Saturday night at the Fryup Thriller Night race, a 10km race in Whitby. A race in the dark is always fun but one where Head torches and waterproof gear is essential. Two strong results from Matt and Kim on the night, well done both of you…so
Also last week Kim Reeve was in action at the Osmotherley marathon and like any of the Hardmoors series, you know it’s not going to be easy…or flat!! Kim had a fantastic run finishing 49th in 6:38:25 from 112 runners. Well done Kim
Kim Reeve and son Joe along with Peter Foulds were in action at the Rabbit 5k at Whitby. Three great performances on the day for this little off roader with Kim finishing 2nd lady and young Joe winning the whole race. Well done all three of you.
David Aiken was in action twice this weekend as he first competed in the Lakeland trails race at Helvellyn, 15km of wind and wet conditions. David finished this in 1hr 22:28, a warm up event to the Ullswater event on Sunday. David finished in an excellent 1hr 33 in the 14km race and his girlfriend
At last Sunday’s Stockton trail race we had nine athletes in action. Shaun Marshall was first across the line in 4th place in 18:32 with all nine athletes finishing in the top one hundred. Well done all
As reported in Last weeks report Darren Gee and Mark Haymer were both in action at the Kielder marathon…well so was Cath Robson! A scenic course and three fantastic individual performances to match. Well done the three of you!
Another Harrier in action last week was Darren Stockdale who was tackling the Gormire Gamble, one of the Esk Valley Fell races, a 11km run from Sutton Bank visitor centre. Darren completed this tough little run in 57:08. Well done Darren.
Last week we reported that Alison Matthews was in action on Sunday at Hartlepool’s Fit Run 10k Trail race…well she wasn’t the only Harrier on show. Alex Bos finished in 27th place in 1:03:51.2 whilst Alison finished 5th in 49:00.6.

Another race to take place on Sunday morning was the Preston Park Trail race where we had a number of athletes on show. Viv Pow and Paul Kelly were the only Harrier at the Grewelthorpe 13km multi terrain race this Sunday. This challenging course takes in some of the toughest climbs and best views in the area, as you work your way up back roads, farmers’ fields, fords, moors and woodland. On Wednesday evening we had some of our athletes in action at the Trail 5km race, West park. Four tough laps around the outer section of the park. Some impressive performances with Colin, Louise and Linda all picking up prizes. Well done all Harriers who ran.
