Sarah Tomlinson was the only Harrier in action at the Windmill Half marathon in Lytham St Annes this weekend. A fast and flat course around Lytham St Annes. Traffic free and great for runners of all abilities and ages so ideal for all abilities.
Sunday saw a handful of our Harriers at the Castle Howard 10km race, a race which sees competitors run off road around the grounds. Barry Bell was first of our runners home on the day in 48th position. Full results can be found here
We had a small number of Harriers taking on the Dales Trail 30km today on a day which saw the sun make an appearance. Some excellent performances on the day, full results of which can be found here
Today saw three of our runners head to Holwick, near Middleton in Teesdale for the Cronkley Fell race. the race covers 10.5miles and has climbs of 1755ft so a tough one on the legs. Results have yet to be published but the trio were full of smiles….at least before they set off!

Mark Milner was in action this weekend at the Lykewake 42mile challenge, a race which gets competitors to take kit with them and go through the following check points along the way. Alex Bos and Gerda Arts were back on home soil in the Netherlands for Alex’s brother’s memorial race over the weekend giving the club vests a trip overseas. Hope you both enjoyed the run!
Jamie Rutherford was the lone Harrier at this years Northumberland Coastal Half Marathon which sees competitors go off path around the scenic Northumberland countryside. On the day Jamie finished in 34th place in 1:29:10. For full results click here
Gerda Arts was our only Harrier at this years Eccup 10 mile race, a race which takes place in Leeds on road. On the day Gerda finished in a time of 1.31.42. Full results can be found here
Paul Oyston was in action this weekend, this time at the Cleveland Steelman. Steelman events are literally a half of a full Ironman Triathlon event with competitor’s undertaking a 1.3mile swim, a 56mile bike ride followed by a half marathon….i’m exhausted just typing that out! Alyson Williamson and her daughter Louise were part of the 5km Together Run in Gateshead, great to see these ladies getting involved in some of the local races. More on this event next week, well done both of you.
We had a huge turnout at the clubs home race, the pitstop 10km which takes place at Croft race circuit and sees competitors undertake 3 laps of the race. Fantastic turnout with over 100 Harriers taking part on the night making this a very successful night for the club. Club results below and full results
Emma Morley was our only Harrier at the midweek Bridges of the Tyne 5mile race, a race which sees competitors run along the quayside before turning and coming back along towards the finish. Emma finished 205th in 40.02. Full results can be found here
We had another good turnout at the Gateshead 10km race today, a race which begins outside the stadium at Gateshead takes runners out and back and into the stadium for a 300m grandstand finish. Simon Rutherford was in action this weekend, this time at the Darren Holloway fell race a 37km race, with the official statistics of 22.1 miles long and 8251 feet of climb this is a race designed to make you shed a tear. Either for the sheer effort of getting round it or for the tragedy
Sue Phillips was in action today at the North East Vets Championship in Jarrow competing in the 3000m. On the day Sue finished in a time of 11:41.9
Midweek saw a handful of Harriers testing themselves out on the fells at the Whorlton Fell race in Swainby. The Whorlton Race is a fast start with the first few kms on the road as runners head up towards Whorlton Moor. On the way down towards Scugdale the route has a nice long 1 mile decent which

Great to see our new composite team working well today, Darlington Harriers have come together with Chester-Le-Street to form a partnership which we hope will push us to promotion this year starting today in Darlington. Watch this space for details of our Track & Field season.
