Following on from the event on Saturday 23rd August at Middlesbrough, Sunday 24th August was the first of the NECAA Open Meetings.
We had seven athletes, across the age groups, competing at the event held at King Edward VI School in Morpeth.
First up on Track were the 100m races. In heat 2, U15 Ashton Harrison finished in 1st place with a PB of 13.33. In heat 4 Andy Harrison finished in 1st place with a PB and age group club record of 12.87 and in heat 8 U17 Charlotte Rutter finished in 5th place in 13.01.
The afternoon was taken up with a series of 800m races, where we had four athletes competing.
In heat 2, U15 Macy Kelly finished in 3rd place with a PB of 2:38.88, in heat 3, Tom Addison finished in 1st place with a PB of 2:23.08 and U17 Marissa Boon finished in 5th with a PB of 2:27.95 (taking over four seconds off the PB she set only the day before!). Finally in heat 11, Jack Gladman finished in 6th place in 2:29.71.
A great weekend of local Track & Field action at both Middlesbrough and Morpeth. Next up is our very own Back To Track 200 event taking place at Eastbourne Sports Complex on Saturday 29th August.
