News in Brief

NEGP Update: It was all smiles for India Pentland last month as she returned to top form at the North East Grand Prix on 25th July. In the 1500m she produced yet another PB with a new time 4.28.91 which will put her 3rd in the UK rankings. She has continued to improve all season with this being her 7th PB this year over 800m and 1500m. A fantastic track record, excuse the pun! Well done India, keep up the good work! ☺

More NEGP News: Rosie and Lily Thompson were in action again at the 6th and final NEGP meeting of the season. They’ve been regular competitors at the Jarrow based competition this year, and have both gone from strength to strength as the season’s progressed. At the final meeting last Wednesday, Under 13 Lily won both the javelin and the shot with throws of 19.12m and 8.94m. Big sister, Rosie threw 18.65m in the javelin (not her favourite event!) and 9.46m in the shot. Their overall standings after all 6 NEGP’s were: Lily finished 2nd in the U13 Girls’ League and Rosie 3rd in the U17 Women’s League. Excellent work girls, well done! ☺
