The North East Grand Prix series returned for the second fixture of the season on Wednesday 24th May at it’s usual home at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow. With Sprint Hurdles, 200m, 800m, and 3000m races on track and High Jump, Shot Put, Hammer and Discus events in the field it was a busy night with over 200 athletes competing.
DHAC was represented by 20 athletes in 27 events, setting themselves 15 personal best performances and one club record broken:
V35M 3000m – Michael Harcourt (9:39.56) breaking his own record set earlier this season.
Three DHAC officials were on hand to support the event, Trevor McDermot, Brian Burdon and Sarah Johnson.

For our Junior athletes upcoming competitions will not be in the DHAC vest, with Northern Inter Counties at York on Saturday 27th where those selected will be wearing the yellow vest of The North East Counties and athletes representing their towns at the Schools County Championships on 10th June.
North Athletics U20 & Senior Championships is at Manchester on 3rd & 4th June and our Masters athletes will be heading to Jarrow on 5th June for the next fixture in the North East Masters T&F League.
