Michael Cooper was involved in international events this weekend as he took the long flight to Montréal to take on first the Rock n Roll 5k on the Saturday which he completed in 24:38 and followed this up with the marathon on Sunday which he completed in 4:21:23.
The route crosses different districts in Montreal through the Notre Dame Island and Saint Helen’s Island on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Old Montreal, the district Ville-Marie, Rosemont-La PetitePatrie and Hochelega-Maisonneuve.
Formerly, races finished in the Olympic Stadium (Montreal), host of the 1976 Summer Olympics until the 2011 edition of the marathon when the finish line was moved to Parc Maisonneuve due to the growing number of participants. In 2012 and 2013, the finish line was in La Fontaine Park. Definitely one to add to the bucket list. Well done Michael.
