News just in – Libby Hammond just got back from Prestwold Hall, Loughborough last night after competing at the National Secondary School Year 7 finals. As you probably know, Year 7 athletes only compete up to County level at the English School competition, so this is a great opportunity for them to compete at National level. Libby was selected to represent Cleveland Schools after winning both their Year 7 and Year 6 Championships.
It was a very fast and tough race, with the winner knocking over a minute off last years winning time! Libby ran really well, unfortunately, hampered by a stinking cold and a stitch from the start. But she still battled on over the 2.8k course, and manage to finish an excellent 117th place in a time of 11:29. A tremendous performance, Libby, well done
