How time flies! Unbelievebly we’ve already reached the 5th meeting of this season’s NEGP. Once again, several of our Juniors travelled to Jarrow where they competed with their usual enthusiasm against their counterparts from other North East clubs. Here’s a brief run down of the results…..
100m
A superb effort from U17, James Stewart . The youngest in the race and knocking nearly half a second of his PB with a new best of 11.95s 400m
Under 15 training partners, Ashton Harrison and Tori Buckley were up against each other in the 400m. Ashton debuted with a very impressive 59.80s and Tori was the 1st female across the line, just a fraction off her PB with a time of 64.84s Ashton and Tori impress in the 400m
1500m
Finn Pentland-Rice was just a fraction off winning his 1500m race after an outstanding performance. He improved his PB by more tha 17 seconds with a new best of 5:25.22.Another solid performance from Macy Kelly in the 1500m. She’s put in some great runs recently and this was her second best time of the season. More top 1500m action came from U15, Zara Jones . She was the first U15 girl across the line smashing her PB by a whopping 7 seconds for a new best of 4:48.8 High Jump
Four juniors in action here. First off, U20 Heptathlete, Charlotte Rutter took 4th place with a best of 1.45m. It’s been a couple of years since Ashton Harrison competed in the high jump. You may have noticed he’s grown a bit since then so it was no surprice that he came away with a huge PB of 1.40m; an improvement of 15cm! Not far behind was Hugo Douglas-Reeves who debuted in the High jump tonight; an excellent start with a best of 1.30m. And finally, Tori Buckley matched her best ever outdoor High Jump with an excellent 1.25m. To finish, another huge PB from Hugo Douglas-Reeves in the Shot Put with a best of 7.76cm. An improvement of 42cm and enough to take the U13 boys Club Record! PB and Club Record for Hugo Excellent results from our Juniors as usual, well done to all who took part. Just one more to go in the series now –
