What a great start to the 2018 North Yorkshire South Durham meetings – together with a super turnout, a buzzing atmosphere and dry weather to boot…..tonight, anything was going to be possible! The NYSD meetings are always good for our young athletes to experience the various disciplines and to just have a go! If you’re anything like us, we always say to our children to work on improving their PB’s, enjoy the experience and try something new…………you never know, you might just love it!
It was fantastic to see so many blue and white junior vests competing, showing the grit and determination that makes this club what it is, and to witness the support of their families cheering them on. As always, it was lovely to see the athletes shaking hands with their competitors at the end of each race; the spirit of true sportsmanship!
As mentioned, there were indeed lots of Juniors competing on Tuesday, some just starting out, many competing in new age brackets and others moving into the older category of their existing age group, but all doing their club proud as they powered through the track and field events. Unfortunately there were just too many young Harriers to mention everyone, but you can find the full list of results here
We look forward to seeing more athletes at the second NYSD meeting on 1st May at Middlesbrough Sports Village……and don’t forget, if you have any photos of the event, please send them in so we can include them in the next NYSD report.
