Tonight’s action was at the Bridges of the Tyne 5 mile race where we had six of our athletes on show. This race takes athletes along the quayside for about 2 miles before looping back alongside the quayside, past the pitch and piano (avoiding the temptation for a quick pint) and along to the finish line.
This is a quick race where a number of PB hunters attend, although due to the congestion at the beginning of the race, in my opinion, the Marina 5 at Hartlepool is a quicker race.
It was Tony Winward who was once again first over the line finishing 32nd but it was Louise Talman who placed 1st in her age category in 66th position. Emma Morley and Shirley Gibson also finishing in podium positions in their respective category. Other runners on the night included Barry Talman 53rd and Karl Hume in 78th. Great running by you all.
