On an unusually warm, still and sunny day for late September in Northumberland, Barry Bell, Corinne Murray and David Aiken were our only runners at the Haltwhistle half marathon which was in its second year of running.
The race was an out-and-back route and almost entirely off road, although the surface varied from tarmac-coated path through rough track to a few short stretches of grass.
Of the three it was Barry Bell who was first home in 35th position in 1.41.12 followed by Corinne Murray in 42nd place in a time of 1.42.43 with David Aiken 88th in 1.57.37.
