Dynamic Duo Head Indoors
In the midst of all the cross country action going on at the moment, two of our top junior athletes were more tempted by the warm and dry of the indoor track last week. For Kate Williams and Charlotte Rutter, it was their first taste of indoor action this season so they were both looking forward to getting back out there.
Under 15, Kate took on the 60m sprint and was in the last of four heats. From the gun she soon pulled away and opened up quite a gap considering the distance. She won comfortably in a time of 8.42s, just 0.02s off here PB. The fastest of all four heats was, coincidently, 8.40s with Kate 2nd overall, so it was an excellent start to her indoor season. Top sprinting, Kate, well done!

In preparation for the Indoor Championships, Under 17, Charlotte competed in the Long Jump tonight. It was a large field of mixed aged groups and as usual, Charlotte jumped very well. Her best on the night was 4.61m; not quite a PB this time but a confident start to the season nonetheless. She finished 3rd overall and 2nd from the Under 17’s. Great effort, Charlotte, well done!

A promising start to their indoor conquests, and long may it continue. Well done to both girls
