No it’s not the latest Enid Blyton best seller, it was more a tale of four Harriers on Saturday heading to Thornaby to take part in the North East Project 5km road race, a 6 x 800m event (+200m) around the industrial estate. This uncertified race was certainly good for training and the group of Lee Johnson, Paul Cook, Barry Talman and Amy Pickworth all did exceptionally well on the day. Each race was split into groups based on predicted times, with Amy making a brave decision to join the faster race on the day.
Official results on the day are now released with Lee Johnson won the first race and dominated from the off finishing in 15.18, Paul Cook next home equalling his personal best in 17.23 ahead of Barry Talman who also had a good run finishing in 17.53 with Amy 19.24 for a new personal best.
