England Call-Up For India

If you were at the Darlington Harriers Awards Night a few weeks ago, you would have heard Andy Woodward announce the fantastic news that India Oates has been selected to represent her country at The 2018 CPISRA World Games . To be held in Barcelona, The Games will include competitions in Athletics, Swimming, Race Running, U19 Football and Para-Taekwondo. There will also be development camps and competitions for Boccia, Table Tennis, Female Football and Wheelchair Slalom.

India will be competing for Team England, and although her events have yet to be confirmed, it is thought that she will be running in the T35 100m and 200m. India has already started her preparation for The Games. She is currently training three times a week plus occasional weekends in Loughborough with Parallel Success. She does track on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Strength and Conditioning at Middlesbrough on a Wednesday night with the Future Champions programme ,and with her parents, India is discussing whether to add another S and C session in at school. So how does India feel about it all? Well, she realises that she will need to step up her training even more (this is monitored by Parallel Success.)

India Oates

She really enjoys the training but is worried about school work and fitting it all in! India tells us that she’s looking forward to the event, not feeling nervous just yet, but sure she will be when the time arrives!

We wish you well, India, from all at Darlington Harriers. As always, you have done the club proud. We look forward to reporting on your success in the summer!
