Darlington Schools Cross Country

A perfect November day for the Darlington schools cross country, Darlington Harriers performed brilliantly winning many medals!

Year 7 Girls

The afternoon kicked off with the Year 7 girls racing around the fields of Wyvern. Finishing in a great second place was Chloe, then in fifth place was Isabelle H with a great run, both girls securing a place at Durham Schools.

Year 10 and 11

Next the year 10 and 11 boys raced over 3.3km. Alex B had a comfortable victory followed in by Dylan in second place, Elwood in fourth, Louis in fifth and Charlie H finished in a commendable 45th place. The top 16 qualified for the next round at Durham Schools.

Year 8 and 9 Girls

The girls sprinted off to complete one and a half laps of the course. Zara J finished in first place, second place went to Freya T. Lottie G had a strong run and was just pipped at the post by Emma C for third place. Lottie was the first year 8 to finish which bodes well for next year. Lily finished midfield in 58th place.

Year 8 and 9 Boys

The afternoon continued with great performances from the Harriers, Hugo D-R ran a great race leading from the front and just holding the lead over the finish line. Daniel I finished in fourth place (the second year 8 boy). Thomas G was 33rd followed by Thomas H who ran well after coming back from a broken foot and Covid. Well done boys!

Year 10 and 11 Girls

The Harriers dominated this race with Macy K finishing in first place with a strong race. Tori B came second – great running from a multi-eventer.

Year 7 Boys

To finish the afternoon on a high Rowan S took first place in the Year 7 boys with Finn P-R finishing behind in 2nd!

Lots of gold, silver and bronze medals and cups! Well done everyone!
