Club Awards Night

Friday saw the annual club awards night take place at Blackwell Rugby Club, an event to get all members together and celebrate successes and achievements as well as have a drink or two! Alan Bell, the infamous starter from Chester-Le-Street who was the man to blot Usain Bolt’s copy book by disqualifying him in the 100m World Championship final back in 2011 was guest speaker on the night spoke about his history as an athlete come volunteer who has visited over 70 countries through our beloved sport.

Big thanks to all those who helped pulled the event together to make this a very successful night for everyone including our three ladies below who made sure the night went smoothly including some mid event food which went down a treat (although one member did comment saying that they would have preferred fish fingers of all things). Joking aside, I hope everyone enjoyed the event but feedback good/bad or ideas always welcomed so we keep these events fresh so please contact the committee.
