Bonnie Scotland Bound

Libby Hammond travelled up to Scotland last weekend to support her Dad Lee, who was running the Loch Ness Marathon. While she was there she decided to have a crack at the River Ness 5k; A flat, scenic route along the banks of the River Ness, finishing at Bught Park in Inverness.

She’s been out of training with an injury she picked up at the City Games a few weeks ago so this was the first 5k run Libby’s done since returning; as you can imagine, Libby was keen to see how her ankle held up. After 3k she said her “legs felt like lead” but she dug deep and ended up running the 5k in 23:12. With her PB standing at 22:40 that’s not bad going, especially after being out of action for a few weeks. As usual, a fantastic effort Libby, well done!

And if you’re wondering how Libby’s Dad got on in the marathon, he finished in 5:00.31, 521st in his category. Nice one Lee, hope your legs have recovered!
