On Saturday morning, the club put on another race which could be an annual event based on the popularity seen so far with over 200 runners signed up before the start of the 5km race at Croft Circuit. Results are still being worked throughby the Run Nation team as there was a few anomalies.
There was no mistaking the winner as John Ashcroft from Leeds City AC blasted home in 14:42 ahead of Morpeth’s Carl Avery in 14:51 with New Marske’s Dom Shaw 3rd in 14:52 a second ahead of George Lowry, Morpeth and two seconds ahead of Carl Smith from Tyne Bridge.
A very quick race with the first 10 runners going sub 16 minutes even with the ‘long course’. Thanks again to all the many helpers from the club including Race organiser Paul Cook, Mark Tallon, Tom Andrews, Harry Singh, Lesley Miller, Anna Stephens, Karen Harland and Chris Binns. These events can’t happen without your continued support so thank you. Look out for a new format for the clubs races in 2019.
