Race Results
Saturday saw a number of our junior runners competing at the relays at Peterlee.
In the U13 girls race the trio of Grace Robinson-Tregear, Jasmine Walker and Chloe Graham finished in 5th place while Rowan Steel put the fastest time of the day in the U13 boys race finishing in 8.27 with the team finishing first (James I’anson and Matthew Foster). Zara Jones equalled Rowan’s achievement with her 9.01 and supported by Freya Talman, 2nd fastest and Savannah Tarn 4th fastest finished in 1st place as a team. The team of Owen Ovens, Daniel I’anson and Willoughby Croslegh finished 3rd place in the U15 boys race while Macy Kelly (2nd fastest), Marissa Boon (4th) and Surein Park (17th) finished 4th in the U17/20 race. Hilary was in action at the weekends St Aidan’s half marathon, which starts (and finishes) at St Aidan’s RSPB nature reserve but also takes in Fairburn Ings RSPB nature reserve. The course starts close to the RSPB visitor centre at St Aidan’s Nature Reserve and follows the River Aire for a spin around Fairburn Ings before returning back to St Aidan’s. On the day Hilary finished the distance in 2hrs 52.54. Full results can be found here
Amanda Trees and Kelly Sloan were also in action this weekend at the Autumn Breaker 10km Stanley Park, Blackpool. The 10km is a two lap course around Stanley Park. The event uses the same beautiful course in the park as the Stanley Park 10k which happens earlier in the year and starts and finishes within the park the route follows the pathways around the park and is very flat. Running together Amanda and Kelly finished the race in 55.56.

Iain Girard along with Anne and Jade Hutchinson took on the challenging Devils foot half marathon, an off road trail race following the Southern Upland Way between Lauder and Melrose. On reaching Melrose runners head towards the Devil’s Foot Mark, before taking a difficult climb up the Eildon Hills before dropping back down to finish the race at Melrose Rugby club.
Jade Hutchinson was first of the three Harriers home finishing in 3rd place in her category and 28th overall. Iain and Anne running the tough course together finished in 94th and 95th place in the same time. Well done all, looked a toughie!

Sunday saw the return of the annual Yorkshire 10mile and full marathon events. In the 10mile event it was Andy Harrison first home making a switch from the track to cross the line in 1:17:05 with Sean Craggs and Tony Williams running the race together in 1:24.42 and 1:24:51 respectively, Tony’s wallet weight advantage losing him 9 seconds on the run in. Trevor Mitchell and Karen Rafiq running together were next home crossing the line in 1.37.16. Great running by you all.

The club only had two runners in the full marathon on the day, Kyle Cook running his first ever marathon finished in an excellent 3.43.19 while the experienced Linda Noble finished hers in 3.56.37. Brilliant achievement by you both! Marathon results can be found here
