Taylor’s Record Tarnished

On a warm Sunday at Raby castle we had a number of runners in action in both the 5km and 10km events. Nova Tarn the only senior in the 5km race finished 21st in 26:44 with junior competitor Charlie Holdcroft 28th in 28:50. In the 10km race it was Nova’s husband Wes who took the honour of first Harrier home as he pushed clear of Colin Taylor to finish 3rd in 36:04 with Colin 4th in 36:39. Louise Talman was first lady finishing 16th in 41:58 ahead of Sue Phillips 36th in 45:41, Barry Foster 57th in 47:46 and Val Clarke 58th in 47:49.

On a big turnout for the club Glen Hart finished one place ahead of Nicky Young in 61st in 48:22, Nicky 62nd in 48:27 one place ahead of Dave Smith in 48:27. Graham Garvey was next home in 66th position in 48:50, Wes Atkins two minutes further back in 82nd in 50:39 with Anne Hutchinson 133rd in 56:56. Brian Burdon and Shirley Gibson finished together in 57:57 for 156th and 157th place, Caroline Gibson 162nd in 58:26 and Iain Girard 177th in 59:56. Jared Holdcroft finished 206th in 63:07.
