Saturday 26th September saw us host the second of our Back To Track events, this time with races over 100m and 800m and a Shot Put competition.
13 of our Senior athletes competed across the afternoon, with some outstanding performances and a good number personal bests.
The wonderful Karen Harland was on hand to capture the day for us. All pictures here are from the Karen’s album, see the full album here.

Shot Put
It was a full hand of PB performances from our five athletes in the Shot Put competetion.
Paul Cook, Andy Harrison and Ste Gordon were all throwing the 7.26kg Shot. Ste broke the 10m line with a best on the day of 10.14m, Andy added a good chunk to his PB to throw to 8.53m and Paul, in his first competition with a 7.26kg Shot got out to 5.80m.
Throwing the 4kg Shot were Gillian Thompson and Dana Birkett, both hitting PBs with Gillian at 4.68m and Dana at 5.72m.
An excellent afternoon of athletics, the club has received some very positive feedback on the events we have hosted so far. We couldn’t host these events without the support of the athletes and more importantly the volunteers who organise and support on the day.
We’re looking forward to the next sell out event – Back To Track III – on 10th October which will feature races over 150m and the Mile as well as Long Jump competition.
