Queens Award for Voluntary Services

Thursday evening saw the club presented with the QAVS after we were notified of the award on June 2nd. Despite being a little windy (unheard of at Eastbourne) it was a quite a nice evening with a very good turnout from the club, runners young and old, parents, coaches, welfare and other club officials.

The Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Sue Snowdon presented the certificate signed by HM Queen Elizabeth to Club development Officer Paul Cook and a crystal award, with the symbol for this award embedded inside to Chairman Mark Tallon who both accepted these awards on behalf of the club.

As the Lord Lieutenant said during her speech, “It really doesn’t get any better than this” for a volunteer group.

Both Certificate and Crystal award will be kept at Eastbourne Complex on display for all to see. Anyone who wasn’t able to make the event or didn’t collect their pin on the evening please get in touch. I will be back at the track onThursday night for those who haven’t done so.
Thank you to everyone who attended and brought
