NYSD Final results

This year’s NYSD Cross Country Series has provided another excellent season of competition. Now all the points have been totted up, the final results have beenpublished, so if you haven’t seen already, here’sa brief summary of how things went for our Junior Harriers…..
There have been many notable performances highlighting the quality and dedication of our young athletes. One of those came from Zara Jones competing in the Under 11 Girls category; after a tit-for-tat battle at the top of the table she finished a fantastic 3rd place with a huge total of 41 points. Team mate, Savannah Tarn wasn’t far behind in 7th place with a very healthy 23 points.
In the Under 13 Boys, Alex Boyer showed he’s certainly a force to be reckoned with. All season it was a close call between him and the older, Josh Hammett (R&Z); in the end Alex was pipped at the post, taking an outstanding 2nd place with a huge total of 43 points. Dylan Wilson impressed by finishing in an excellent 6th place after competing in just 3 out of the 7 events…..and it was a great effort from Elwood Kelley who also made the top 10, having run at just 3 of the meets but still managed to bag 13 points!

It was a tremendous result for Libby Hammond in the Under 13 Girls, finishing in 8th place overall, scoring in 5 of the meets, and being the only Year 1 athlete in the top 10! Sophia Hill also impressed by securing 9th place, having only run at 2 of the meetings; similarly, Tori Buckley was injured for part of the season but still managed to finish in 13th place. As you probably know by now, most of our Under 13 Juniors are still in their first year of this age category, so they all show huge potential for next season. Can’t wait!

In the Under 15 Girls, Mia Wetherill has done nothing but impress this season. She managed to score points at 3 meetings this year, helping her finish in an excellent 8th place overall…..and in the Under15 Boys, twins Adam and John Russell only competed twice, but Adam managed to bag 16 points finishing in 7th and Adam 11 points, finishing 12th.
And top marks go to Millie Grayson competing in her first NYSD cross country season. She’s been a regular face for the Under 17 Girls this year, scoring in 5 of the meetings, and was rightly rewarded for her efforts with a healthy 32 points; enough to take a fantastic 3rd place!
The highlight in the team events was the Under 13 Boys and the Under 13 Girls who both took 3rd place after a string of impressive results, and as things stand, look very promising for next season! As a club, across all the age groups including the Seniors, DHAC also finished an excellent 3rd place. You can see the full cumulative results by clicking here
Congratulations to all who took part this season, you have helped make the whole series another resounding success! Once again you have done yourselves andyour club proud. #UTH!
