Five of our athletes travelled down to Sheffield on Saturday, to compete in the first indoor meet of the season. No medals were up for grabs today but there were lots of PBs and even some club records set!
Northern Athletics Indoor Open Meet
U15 and U17 Boys
Thomas Hill (U15B) got off to a great start in the pole vault, jumping 2.10m, a club record and his first time competing at this event.
In the U17 men, also competing in the pole vault, getting a PB and a club record was Ashton Harrison. Ashton also got a PB in the 150m with a very fast 19.9 seconds.
Well done to the boys, both setting club records and gaining some new PBs in the events!
U15 and U17 Girls
In the U15 girls Lottie had a great race with a PB (1:49:26) in the 600m with another club record. It was Lily Bowman’s first competition and she had a strong race in the 60m running 9.4 seconds. Both girls also competed in the long jump and the shot put gaining club records. Elizabeth Clay, competing for the first time, ran 8.8 seconds in the 60m sprint.
Krista Bissett Brown (U17W) competed in the 150m (20.27) and 60m for the first time as well as the shot put throwing a great distance of 6.74m!
